I did a reading for an indigenous couple shortly after the discovery of the genocide of the little indigenous children. They were in such distraught over the events as well as their own personal history and experiences. They wanted to stop doing the powwows and dancing they thought that this would be a better way to honour the people victims from this genocide. I screamed “ NO”!! As my spirit guide Lakota told me that would be the worst thing that the people could do was take away the dancing that if anything all of the traditional ways must be recovered and the honour of the tradition be preserved restored in the hearts of the people ! That the healing of this dna generationally is the medicine to heal the people.
So when you awaken tomorrow from sleeping in if you are privileged enough to receive the day off . Honour the spirits of the dead children , honour the spirits of the living generations of people that went on living and then celebrate the culture and traditions that were taken from these people. Respect the day , respect the people in grace and honour. For September 30Diane Marshall 1/8 modoc from the Klamath Tribes , Oregon USA and Cree From the Great Lakes Ontario, B.C. Canada
